In 2019, Gagandeep Ghuman arrived in Regina as an international student, ready to pursue his studies at the University of Regina. Little did he know that in just a few years, he would not only complete his education but also leave an indelible mark on the city. After graduating, Gagandeep had a strong desire to give back to the community that had become his second home. While exploring ways to do so, he realized Regina was missing something special—a local eatery dedicated to serving wings. Thus, Wingo was born.
What started as an idea soon turned into an exciting journey. Gagandeep spent over a year and a half researching, experimenting with flavors, and designing a space that would become Regina’s first and only local eatery offering 125+ flavors of wings and ribs. Every flavor on the menu is handcrafted, a testament to the dedication and creativity behind Wingo’s success. From the first flavor to the 125th, it has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, filled with passion and innovation.
But Wingo is more than just wings. Gagandeep wanted to create a place where people could connect, feel at home, and experience a true local vibe. To bring this vision to life, he incorporated pieces of Regina's history into the restaurant’s design. One wall is adorned with pages from the 1964 Regina phone directory, allowing guests to find the names of their loved ones and feel an instant connection to the city. The furniture? Handcrafted by Gagandeep himself, using locally sourced steel drums. The walls are covered with local magazines, records, Roughriders jerseys, and much more, each piece telling a story of Regina’s vibrant community.
